Coaches Corner Podcast - Class 2A State Basketball Preview

Hello and welcome to the Coaches Corner Podcast, I’m your host,  Ryan Stonebraker.  Welcome in to the listeners, new and old, I appreciate it.  I am the sports editor for the Tipton Conservative, the weekly, county newspaper for Cedar County in Eastern Iowa.  This podcast project today is the largest I have had and I am very thankful for the guests this week that took time out of their schedules to come on the podcast.  This podcast is a preview of the  Class 2A girl’s state basketball tournament.

We made it.  It’s state tournament week, and back in October, how many thought we would even have a season?  Yet, we did.  Very few games were not played after the prevailing thought was that ‘Get to Thanksgiving’ and then break until after  Christmas was the popular thought late last year.  Look now.  Eight teams in each class remain, looking for bids in the Final Four and ultimately the chance to play for a state title.  After battling an invisible foe this year, eight teams remain representing eight communities with big dreams.  It’s going to be great week.

On today’s podcast are:

Jason Eslinger from the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union - 3:16

PBS Sports anchor Paul  Yeager - 25:04

Cedar Rapids Gazette Prep Sports Writer Jeff Linder - 49:07

Nodaway Valley girl’s basketball coach Brian Eisbach - 1:00.20

KSIB Radio Sports Director Damon Helgevold - 1:22.05

West Branch Girls Basketball coach Jarod  Tylee - 2:00.00

West Branch Times Editor Gregory Norfleet - 2:15.00

And

Jake Ryder, Sports  Editor for the  Grundy  County Register 2:39.0

Whether you listen for some of all of this podcast, thank you.  If you are a fan, enjoy this week.  If you are a coach or player this week, good luck, go get em.  Forever  memories await all of you.

WIth that said, let’s get started…...
