Hawkeyes Announce Start Times for Home Duals
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The University of Iowa wrestling team announced Wednesday starting times for home duals at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in 2017-18.
The Hawkeyes host Oklahoma State (Jan. 14) in a Sunday matinee beginning at 3 p.m. (CT). Iowa hosts Michigan on Saturday, Jan. 27, at 5 p.m., and Minnesota on Friday, Feb. 2, at 8 p.m.
Friday night duals against Rider, Illinois, and Michigan State will start at 7 p.m. (CT).
The Iowa City Duals begin at 10 a.m. with three consecutives duals against Iowa Central, Buffalo (11:30 a.m.), and North Dakota State (1 p.m.). The Hawkeyes host Northwestern on Sunday, Feb. 4, at 10 a.m., in their final home dual of the season (early start time in account of Super Bowl Sunday and a UI women’s basketball afternoon tipoff at Carver-Hawkeye Arena).
Season tickets are $80 and available for purchase at hawkeyesports.com or by contacting the UI Athletics Ticket Office at 800-IA-HAWKS. Season tickets include a $25 savings when compared to single-dual pricing, and season ticket holders get priority for April's UWW World Cup.
The UWW World Cup is the annual international dual meet championship that features the top eight men's freestyle wrestling teams in the world. Team USA, the 2017 UWW World Champion, is represented by Iowa All-American and world silver medalists Thomas Gilman, and Olympic and World medalists Jordan Burroughs, J'Den Cox, Nick Gwiazdowski, and Kyle Snyder.
The UWW World Cup will be contested April 7-8 at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
